Iaido Kata

Iaido Sheffield practice Seitei Kata Iaido Forms & Muso Shinden School Kata

Once these Katas are understood and can be practiced with a degree of skill beginners are able to take their 1st Kyu (brown belt) at national level.

After this students go on to practice the Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido curriculum which is an old Iaido school (Koryu) derived from the Eishin Ryu which is at least 400 years old. Progress can then be rapidly made towards 1st Dan (Black belt).

All gradings under the British Kendo Association are registered in Japan and also with the European Kendo Federation. This means that practitioners can go anywhere in the world and be recognised as having achieved a certain level of skill.
